A Look Inside : The Chancery Rosewood
After more than four years in the making, London’s most talked-about opening, The Chancery Rosewood is finally open. The Chancery Rosewood is set in the former U.S. Embassy on Grosvenor Square, the Grade II-listed icon has been given a glamorous new lease of life by British architect Sir David Chipperfield and developed by Qatari Diar Europe LLP. Together they have meticulously restored its historic façade without losing an ounce of gravitas. But as dazzling as the exterior may be, the real thrill begins once you step inside, where food and drink take centre stage.
This is Rosewood’s second London property, joining the acclaimed Holborn Rosewood, which opened in 2013 after transforming another Grade II listed building into one of the capital’s most celebrated luxury addresses.

The Chancery Rosewood is a hotel for those who love space, light, and a touch of drama in the heart of Mayfair. It is an all-suite affair, with 144 stylishly appointed suites, many offering sweeping views over Mayfair and Hyde Park. Its origins as a government building mean it stands proudly apart from neighbouring buildings, giving the property an unusual sense of openness that’s rare in the heart of London.
Taking inspiration from the sophistication of the 1920s and the creativity and glamour of the 1960s, the design scheme draws a warm, rich colour palette and feature refined, Art Deco-style detailing, walnut panelling and marble and brass accents, altogether channelling the ambiance of a traditional British gentlemen’s club.

These suites feature private landscaped terraces that offer panoramic views of the London, fully equipped bars, and grand marble bathtubs perfect for soaking away the city bustle. Whether entertaining friends or simply indulging in some serious R&R, these suites offer an unrivalled sense of privacy and style.
The Chancery Rosewood is reimagining its approach to luxury hospitality, with flexible check-in and check-out, and a house car is available for city transfers, so guests can come and go on their own terms.
