The new Sea Containers Riverview Suites bring a fresh look to one of London’s most iconic riverside hotels. The South Bank property has unveiled a complete redesign of its collection of 59 Thames-facing suites, marking one of the city’s most stylish hotel refreshes this year. The interiors may have changed, but the uninterrupted views of the River Thames remain as impressive as ever.
What’s New at Sea Containers London
The whole collection has been reworked by Lore Group’s Creative Director and Designer Jacu Strauss, who took the hotel’s original Tom Dixon interiors and evolved them through a more playful, elevated lens, leaning further into the property’s transatlantic and nautical story. Between the four categories below, there is a shape and a view for pretty much every kind of stay.
Riverview Balcony Suite: The signature of the collection, and the one to book if the view is the whole point. Generous layouts and a private balcony suspended above the water put the Thames, St Paul’s and the skyline right at the foot of the bed.
One Bedroom Riverview Suite: A more residential take on the same riverside setting, with a proper separation between living and sleeping space for anyone who wants a longer stay to feel like a home rather than a hotel room.
Riverview Studio Suite: The newest addition to the line-up and a junior suite in the best sense, giving a smart, space-savvy way into the collection without giving up the river outlook.
Cabin Suites: The most characterful of the four, this collection of just four suites first launched last year and leans hardest into the hotel’s maritime story, with a scale and a mood all of its own.
The draw here starts with the view and never really lets up. Room layouts are deliberately composed to frame the Thames at its most cinematic, taking in London‘s skyline and St Paul’s Cathedral along with the ever-changing light on the water. A private balcony suspended above the river is not a small thing in this city, and having one attached to a room this thoughtfully designed makes the whole stay feel like an occasion rather than just a night away.
The detailing is where the refresh really stands out. Tabletops and counters are crafted from recycled ocean plastics, while coffee tables are made from reclaimed ship propellers and paired with chairs inspired by industrial maritime hardware, Art Deco and eighties design. Each suite is finished with a curated selection of Phaidon coffee-table books, creating a residential feel that’s elegant, layered and unmistakably unique.
The refresh also extends well beyond the suites themselves. A striking new contemporary sculpture now anchors the lobby, and Agua Spa has introduced agua Studio, a dedicated wellness space hosting weekly yoga, breathwork and sound baths alongside a new agua Thai Experience built around balance and recovery.
