Juno : The Smallest & Most Intimate Omakase Dining Experience in London’s Los Mochis Notting Hill

Los Mochis, renowned for defining a new culinary concept, fusing Mexican and Japanese cuisine is igniting the London dining scene with the unveiling of Juno, an innovative Omakase experience. An intimate six seat private counter-style experience, Juno is the smallest Omakase in London, offering a taste of the more avant-garde.

Situated on the 1st floor, Juno draws inspiration from traditional Japanese cuisine with a distinctive Mexican twist, offering a vibrant reinterpretation of the traditional Omakase experience. ‘Omakase’ is a traditional Japanese concept, translating to “I leave it up to you,” whereby one places complete trust in the chef’s skills to create a personalized meal, relinquishing control. Staying true to the concept, there will be no fixed menu as guests indulge in 15 inventive courses meticulously curated by Executive Chef Leonard Tanyag from Los Mochis (previously of ex-OKKU and Zuma) in collaboration with Head Sushi Chef Han, formerly of Nobu and Roka.

The dishes at Juno will showcase unique flavour and texture combinations, spotlighting the skill and technique of the experienced chefs. Committed to sustainability, the line-caught fish suppliers adhere to a daily limit of 10, avoiding overfishing and ensuring ecosystem preservation. They also use the traditional ikejime technique, considered to be the fastest and most humane method of killing fish, making this fish quality one of the best fish in London.

Other dishes by Executive Chef Leonard Tanyag include Japanese Kagoshima Wagyu A4 from Kagoshima with bone marrow and smoked chillis, and Seared Hokkaido Scallops with caramelised fig and truffle goma, all will be gluten and nut free, mirroring the same ethos seen at Los Mochis. Each course can also be accompanied by a bespoke Wine, Sake, or Agave pairing, reflecting the Pan-Pacific ethos of the restaurant.

Markus Thesleff, Founder of Los Mochis, said: “We’re excited to be able to translate the traditional Omakase experience to our much-loved Notting Hill restaurant. This experience allows us to push the boundaries of what a traditional Omakase will be, by pairing Mexican spirit and Japanese elegance in a unique way which we simply cannot do in our main restaurant. The exclusive creations we can do for only 6 guests per seating give us so much flexibility and truly allows our Chefs to express their creative side.”

As the smallest Omakase dining experience in London, the space is enveloped by rich, earthy hues and accents of copper, creating an intimate ambiance. The Omakase experience will unfold atop a meticulously handcrafted walnut countertop, inviting guests to savour each course by hand—a homage to the timeless tradition of relishing food in its purest form.
