Waffles & Bellinis At Bob Bob Ricard : The London Brunch Where Waffles Come Topped with 40g of Caviar
Bob Bob Ricard has always understood the appeal of a little theatre at the table. In Soho, where the restaurant has made a name for itself with its glamorous interiors, British and French classics and the now-iconic “Press for Champagne” buttons at every table, even a simple waffle comes with a sense of occasion.
Designed by David Collins, its all-booth interior draws inspiration from the Orient Express and the golden age of travel, while the menu pairs familiar comfort dishes with luxury ingredients. Caviar, Champagne and Beef Wellington feel entirely at home here, so the prospect of a waffle topped with 40g of caviar is less an unexpected departure than a natural extension of the restaurant’s approach to indulgence.

First introduced in 2020, Waffles & Bellinis quickly acquired a devoted following before lockdown brought its original run to an untimely end. Now the weekend brunch returns with three waffles, each paired with a Strawberry & Peach Bellini, from a classic bacon and maple syrup combination to a £69 creation topped with 40g of Amurski Imperial caviar. It also offers an increasingly rare pleasure: an excuse to dress up for lunch.
Three Waffles, Three Very Different Moods
The Crème Brûlée Waffle is exactly what it promises to be: a freshly made waffle, covered with rich vanilla custard, brûléed to a crisp caramel crust and finished with berries. Dessert at midday suddenly seems an entirely reasonable proposition. The Bacon Waffle is Bob’s faithful rendition of an American classic which, he maintains, requires no improvement: crisp home-cured bacon, whipped butter and generous lashings of maple syrup.

And then there is the Waffle Impérial (£69), unmistakably Bob Bob Ricard. It arrives topped with a hefty 40g of Amurski Imperial caviar, crème fraîche, chives and lemon zest. “It may well be London’s most expensive waffle, although, with 40g of caviar on top, perhaps its best-value one too,” says Richard Logins, managing director of Bob Bob Ricard. “And no, the irony of calling a £69 waffle good value is not lost on us.”
Waffles & Bellinis is served throughout the restaurant and at the bar dining counter every Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon until 5.30pm. Bookings are appreciated, walk-ins are always welcome.
