Lusin Mayfair : Mayfair’s First Armenian Restaurant

Lusin, a brand-new Armenian restaurant, has opened in the heart of London’s Mayfair. Serving Armenian and Levantine fusion meals with Eastern European influences. Meaning ‘moon’ in Armenian, Lusin is reflecting the Armenian culture with its relish music, food, literature, and nature. Prepare yourself to savor an evocative cuisine to celebrate the centuries-old tradition of a proud people.

Spanning two floors and seating 100, it is the first London outpost of Lusin, which initially launched in Riyadh in 2011 where it has notably hosted royals and government officials including the Kofi Annan, the Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Designed by Riyadh-based architect and interior designer Marram Sediq, the entrance at Lusin Mayfair showcases 3 outstanding pillars that have hand-made carvings resembling Armenian Khachkar, symbols and signs from the “Tree of Life” to the “Eternity” symbol. The walls even feature Armenian Tuff Stone that is originally sourced from Armenian Mountais.

An award-winning gastronomic concept born out of Dr. Mazen Amulgbel, the creator of Mira Food’s inspirational travels to Armenia and Lebanon. Dr Mazen experienced Armenian and Lebanese cultures during his travels, finding the top food consultants from Lebanon, Armenia and Aleppo, Syria. Lusin’s authentic Armenian dishes are created by Madam Anahid Doniguian, author of the Armenian Cookbook “Yepelou Arveste”.

Serving enticing Armenian specialties renowned for its distinctive aromas and flavorful preparations. The London menu has been curated by 2 Michelin-star chef Marcel Ravin with innovative dishes such as the Famous Cherry Kebab made from spiced kebab skewers, perfectly charcoaled, and then covered with the signature home-made cherry sauce.

The Signature Lusin Kibbeh is singular for its Armenian Gastronomy. Prepared with a special recipe of mixed daily-fresh meat, Bulgur & nuts, seasoned with distinctive Armenian spices, and savoured with pomegranate molasses. This distinguished dish is produced by expert chefs in Armenian Cuisine.

The Lusin Salad is a creation made with shredded cheese topping a smoky-baked Aubergine, with vegetables and herbs coulis. The main ingredient is the cheese that originates from Armenian Tressed cheese. When this dish was created, they added fresh vegetables and herbs to prepare a delicious fresh starter.

On the drinks front, cocktails include fresh twists on classics and the drinks menu has been crafted by mixologist Giancarlo Mancino, official beverage and bar consultant for the Rosewood Hotels worldwide. Armenian wines are also available to try.
