Mandarin Oriental has brought its renowned hospitality to Greece for the first time with the opening of an exquisite beach front resort at Costa Navarino. A sustainably driven destination in the Mediterranean, Costa Navarino is set directly on the shores of Navarino Bay. Just a short stroll from the charming village of Gialova, on the southwest coast of the Peloponnese, one of the most unspoiled and breathtaking landscapes in the region.

Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino subtly emerges from an idyllic Mediterranean landscape, offering mesmerising views of the surrounding countryside and sparkling azure sea. Graced with a breathtaking seaside landscape, this region is shaped by 4,500 years of history. At Costa Navarino, the traditional Messenian elements blend seamlessly with contemporary luxury.

Developed in collaboration with TEMES, a leading developer renowned for their commitment to sustainability. The design team is Tombazis & Associates Architects
and K-Studio, who have combined creativity and craftsmanship, ensuring every aspect of the resort maximises on its extraordinary views. Costa Navarino’s bioclimatic design utilises locally sourced materials and embraces green living concepts, drawing inspiration from local agricultural traditions and the region’s rich cultural heritage.

Enveloped by lush green hills adorned with olive trees, Costa Navarino features 99 light-filled suites and earthsheltered villas. Inspired by both the beauty of the Messenian landscape and the idyllic colours of the Mediterranean, elegant interiors combine peaceful earthy tones, complete with contemporary decor and locally sourced, handcrafted elements that echo the warmth of the Peloponnese. All accommodations boast floor-to-ceiling windows, a terrace, or balcony, while the villas also feature private pools.

Costa Navarino offers a selection of five unique restaurant and bar concepts. Here the chefs are committed to sourcing local, exceptional ingredients from Messenia, and delivering them in a unique gastronomic experience overseen by Executive Chef Bertrand Valegeas. At the heart of the resort lies Oliviera Restaurant, with sweeping views of the bay and an eclectic selection of redefined and authentic Greek cuisine which pays homage to local culture.

Three Admirals Lounge is a great spot for sundowner cocktails, with sweeping panoramic views over the blue Ionian Sea, along with dramatic sunset views. Tahir Restaurant focuses on Levantine cuisine, with healthy mezze dishes sourced from local farms. With such a diverse range of dining options, guests can expect a varied culinary experience that embodies the essence of Messenia’s culture and flavours.

Another highlight is the Brasserie de la Bay that serves up French cuisine. With an enviable location overlooking the historic Bay of Navarino, Brasserie de la Bay is uniquely designed to blend harmoniously into the natural landscape, while its terrace fully benefits from spectacular views over the impressive golf greens, the sea and the stunning Ionian sunset.

In addition, a sprawling 16,145-square-foot wellness facility awaits. The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino, is inspired by the Group’s oriental traditions combined with the abundant Greek flora that surrounds it. Featuring a 25-meter pool that traverses from indoor to outdoor, providing breathtaking bay and sunset views, while the Hammam, cold bath, and herbal sauna provide unique detoxifying experiences.

An array of water activities, from paddleboarding to water-skiing, are readily available at the beach club. For those inclined towards culture, there are many activities from olive oil tastings, traditional cooking classes, and visits to many local historical sites, whilst golf enthusiasts will appreciate the 18-hole Bay Course and its stunning coastal views that surround the resort, as well as three further signature golf courses across the destination.
