The Dover : Martin Kuczmarski’s New York Style Italian
The Dover, a new restaurant & bar, is bringing Italian fare with a New York vibe to London’s Mayfair, serving Italian dishes with a New York attitude and Martinis into the early hours. The first solo venture by Martin Kuczmarski, formerly group COO at Soho House, The Dover is set to become the most sought after reservation in London, with a focus on unpretentious elegance and exceptional service.
Hidden behind a deep burgundy, heavy velvet curtain and laced with a sumptuous Mysore sandalwood scent, the seductive, intimate dining room is dotted with florals in red and pink hues and features tables dressed with double tablecloths and traditional candlesticks, reminiscent of a bygone era of fine dining that Martin is determined to bring to London, but without the fuss.
Designed by Milanese designers, Quincoces & Drago, The Dover exudes a contemporary, art-deco vibe through dim lights, curved American Walnut paneling, sultry textures and a black and white marble chequered floor.
Head Chef, Valentino Pepe, who trained with Alan Yau and Gennaro Vitto has designed a menu of long-time favourites such as Prawn Cocktail, Beef Tartare, Chopped Salad, Spaghetti & Meatballs, Beef Arrosto and Lobster Ravioli whilst General Manager, Tobias Smithson, of Mark Hix and The Ned fame, is leading a dedicated team to seamlessly balance excellent service and friendly, convivial warmth.

An evening at The Dover is accompanied by a comforting soundtrack of true vinyl sounds with dedicated record selections setting the tone for each time period; 6pm to 8pm, 8pm to 10pm and from 10pm into the early hours taking diners on a journey through classic soul, funk and disco.
