Soho’s buzzy trattoria Bocca di Lupo is looking to Italy for this season’s treasures: white Alba truffles. From October onwards, chef and founder Jacob Kenedy is inviting you to BYOT —bring your own truffle — to shave over dishes at the restaurant, adding a welcome
touch of luxury as the nights draw in. Bocca di Lupo are also offering the opportunity to purchase fragrant white truffles from sister gelataria Gelupo and bring them across the street to Bocca di Lupo to be gently cleaned, then shaved over their choice of dishes by the chefs.
Each day, the team marks out with a ‘T’ the dishes on his menu which are best suited to a dusting of pale gold slices, allowing the white truffle’s subtle notes of ploughed soil and autumn rain to take centre stage. At gelataria Gelupo, each morning, the team will chalk up the day’s arrivals on the blackboard, with a range of sizes priced according to the market.
