Sparrow Italia: A Mediterranean Escape In The Heart Of Mayfair

Sparrow Italia is a modern Italian restaurant that transports the southern European coast to the heart of Mayfair. Born in Los Angeles under the Noble 33 group, building on its success, the group has now expanded and bring a London version of this exquisite dining experience. Sparrow sets the tone for a sophisticated yet laid back atmosphere that honours the values belonging to generations of Italian table lovers.

Spanning over three floors, each thoughtfully curated to offer a myriad of experiences, from the downstairs bar, the gorgeous sun-lit dining room, private dining room to the intimate cigar room and rooftop terrace – the “Sparrow Nest” which is perfect for al fresco drinks. Sparrow Italia has already welcomed the likes of VIPs including, Alicia Keys, Serena Williams, and Cameron Diaz, amongst others.

The menu designed by Noble 33’s Corporate Executive Chef, AJ McCloud carefully blends time-honoured Italian recipes with a modern twist. With a focus on fresh seafood, handcrafted pasta, rustic pizzas and wood-fired creations the menu showcases bold and innovative flavours made with the high-quality, sustainable and organic ingredients.

Unapologetically indulgent, the menu embraces the opulence of caviar, truffle, and Wagyu, leaving no desire unfulfilled. Amongst the delectable starters, the menu boasts standout dishes like the Ahi tuna tartare accompanied by avocado, truffle ponzu, crispy onions, and herb crackers. Equally, enticing is the A5 carpaccio adorned with pickled seasonal mushrooms, pine nuts, umami aioli, and delicately shaved black truffles.

The main courses take centre stage with a line-up of irresistible dishes, such as the sumptuous lobster linguine featuring British Isles lobster, acqua pazza, lemon-parsley butter, and toasted breadcrumbs. For a true indulgence, the cacio e pepe can be enhanced with the addition of fresh truffle, elegantly served from a pecorino wheel. Meat lovers will love the tender Wagyu ribeye, while those seeking a lighter option can savour the grilled branzino adorned with Sicilian pistachio fine herbs and charred lemon. A standout dessert that deserves special recognition is the zeppole—a delightful offering of miniature Italian doughnuts, exquisitely served with a heavenly combination of whipped ricotta and rich Nutella ganache.

The food is complemented by an adventurous drinks menu that experiments with fresh, seasonal ingredients and premium spirits to craft their modern yet delicious cocktails.
The cocktail menu boasts an array of captivating creations, amongst them are ‘Sicily’ this delightful concoction features the finest Blanco tequila, accompanied by 1757 extra dry vermouth, zesty lime, sweet agave, flavourful orgeat, luscious guava puree, rich averna, aromatic bitters, fragrant rosemary, a hint of absinthe, and a touch of fire. Another star is the ‘Sardinia’, an exquisite blend of nitrogen-infused honeydew Pisco, blanco vermouth, Italicuz, Meyer lemon, Peychaud’s, and egg white, crowned with a delightful bergamot sphere.

Tosh Berman and Mikey Tanha’s lifestyle hospitality company, Noble 33, known for its ever-evolving line-up of unique, social dining restaurants stateside and abroad, partnered with local hospitality veteran Khaled Dandachi to bring Sparrow Italia to London. The restaurant’s decor seamlessly blends neutral tones with delicate accents of emerald and blue, drawing inspiration from the rich aesthetics of Italy and the Mediterranean. The light filled dining room on the second floor is designed to transport guests to the romantic cobble-lined streets of an Italy. It is graced with olive trees, seductive lighting and textures of marbles and woods, all honouring old-world Italian roots, lifestyle, and decor.

Situated on the third floor of Sparrow Italia is the 25-person Sparrow Cigar Room, led by Cigar Sommelier, Syafiera Rosidi, a Master of Havana Cigars (a prestigious title held by less than 40 people in the world) features wood-panelled interiors, and a walk-in humidor to select unique cigars from Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Costa Rica, Mexico, and select areas from South America. The cigar offering will be offered on a revolving basis.
