LVMH’s Volcan De Mi Tierra X.A Tequila Is Now Available To Purchase 

Volcan X.A, a luxury tequila from LVMH, was initially introduced last summer in select restaurants and clubs across the world, with only 250 locations carrying the brand. However, it is now available for purchase online.

Volcan X.A is the latest iteration from Volcan de mi Tierra, a tequila label owned by Moet Hennessy that was reintroduced as a reimagined product in 2017. In the competitive tequila market, Volcan has already established itself as a premium choice. An innovative blend of Reposado, Añejo and Extra-añejo tequilas, Volcan X.A is made from only 100% blue agave, free of any additives, bringing the art of blending into the world of tequila. It is a rare proposition in the ultra-premium category – which is why it is already one of the world’s most exclusive tequilas.

Volcan de mi Tierra stands out from typical Blanco and Reposado tequilas due to its distinctive origin in the lowlands of Jalisco, Mexico, which shares its name with a volcano that erupted 200,000 years ago. The rich volcanic soil created by the eruption is perfect for growing blue agave, and the elevated basalt and iron content in the soil give the agave a unique flavour.

Santiago Cortina Callardo, COO and board member, says: “Volcan X.A is the result of several years of work and research in Volcan’s distillery. Some years ago, we built a new cellar, which is 8 meters deep and has 1.5 m thick walls to protect our casks from the heat of Jalisco and allow gentle ageing in various types of oak barrels we had been experimenting on. After many trials, we have been able to create the tequila we were aiming for: an ultra-smooth and aromatic expression with a long finish, and no additives.”

The 3 layers of ageing unveil a very smooth tequila profile. The Reposado base brings the right level of sweetness and smoothness, while Anejo and Extra-anejo add aromatic elegance and complexity. A subtle recipe kept secret by our master distiller.
